2001 Explorer Sport
Hi guys I am kind of new here but I need some help with an audio system for my 2001 Explorer Sport.

Here are the main components I want:

1x AVIC-Z1
-Bluetooth Adapter
-Ipod Adapter
-Nav Traffic and XM Radio

3x Pioneer Premier TSW3004SPL Subwoofers

2x Pioneer Premier TS-C720PRS Component Speakers

You may have noticed I have not listed amplifiers. Why you ask? Because I have no idea what type of amps I need for that system. I am amp-illiterate(sp?).

The wattage of each set of the component speakers are
RMS Power Range : 50 Watts
Peak Power Handling: 200 Watts

The wattage of each subwoofer I believe is
RMS Power Range : 750 Watts
Peak Power Handling: 2000 Watts

My questions are now going to be asked.

1.What type of amps do I need? Mono, 2-Channel, Multi-channel?
2.How many of each type do I need?
3.How much wattage should each of the amps be able to supply(1000 watts, 2000 watts, 3000 watts, etc.)?
4.Do I need mid-range speakers?
5.Will my stock battery be able to handle the power or should I add another battery?
6.If yes to adding another battery, can someone recommend a good one.
7.Will I need anything else to power the system?

I want to let you guys know that everything I use will be Pioneer Premier or Pioneer. I just like Pioneer for audio stuff. They make quality products. Also money is really not an issue for the system although my max will be $6500 with installation hopefully. I am not installing it myself. I dont have the time, knowledge, or tools. But will a install place know what to do in terms of capacitors, fuses, etc.? Thanks guys, I really appreciate it.

My questions are now going to be asked.

1.What type of amps do I need? Mono, 2-Channel, Multi-channel?
I suggest mono for the subs, a class d amp will be more efficient, look for an amp that does between 1500rms and 2300rms @ 2ohms
for the components, try to find a 4ch amp that puts out 50x4 RMS, not 50x4 peak

2.How many of each type do I need?
you could get by the easiest with just 2 amps, a mono class d for the subs and a 4ch for the components
3.How much wattage should each of the amps be able to supply(1000 watts, 2000 watts, 3000 watts, etc.)?
above
4.Do I need mid-range speakers?
the components take care of midrange, but if you want a 3 way components system with mid woofer, mid-range, and tweeter you will have to look past pioneer
5.Will my stock battery be able to handle the power or should I add another battery? deff going to have to upgrade batteries and do the big3, i say probably do an optima yellow top up front and in the back, if it was me i would even upgrade alternator, a good 200-300a
6.If yes to adding another battery, can someone recommend a good one.

7.Will I need anything else to power the system?

skip on the capacitors, save money for a new alt, run atleast 1 run of 1/0 wire to the back, maybe even 2 so incase you want to upgrade in the future

Well I wont be installing this myself. Do you think my person that is installing will know the type of battery and power I need for the system?

they will know what to do to make them the most money usually

depends on the shop you go to, "Most" shops should know not to run 2000+rms off 4ga wire and stock batt, but you never can tell

you read the red writing? i gave you a starting block for a good system :)

Also will that one mono amp power 3 subwoofers 3000 watt subs? And will the Multi-channel power both sets of components? Or do I need more than one amp of each?

Also I did read the red but I am still kind of confused that is why I am making some replies. For the most part I understand but I am still kind of confused.

yes a mono amp will power 3 subs, the subs are 750rms, dont look at the peak power stuff, each sub is dual 4ohm, wire heach sub to 8ohms and parallel them all to 2ohms final load, if a shop cant wire subs please let me know, because it derserves to be burned down:salute:

2 sets of components, im assuming 1 set for front one set for back
get a 4 channel amp and make ch 1&2 for front speakers and ch 3&4 for rear speakers

you can get by with 2 amps easy, dont make it super hard ton install with 5 amps and what not
