Are there any machines out there to apply polish and wax to my truck?

Do they work well?

What would you recommend?

There are several different machines out there that you can use. But first, what are you willing to pay for a good machine?

Probably 50 bucks at most.

Unless you are using a high speed buffer to remove scratches...just use your arms!!
After using an orbital to remove wax, there will be lint and areas were the orbital pad can't get to. You'll have to hit these areas by hand anyway.
That is just from my experience (10 years worth) of detailing cars.

If you really want a machine, then what you are looking for is an Orbital Polisher. Check out Sears or Wal-Mart for inexpensive ones or look online...maybe Ebay.

Without question the nicest buffer/polisher is the porter cable random orbital. Meguiars sells one but you can also get it at your local home depo or lowes, it;s marketed there as a sander/polisher. Through Meguiars it's around $200.00. I have had the 30-75 dollar units I've bought through sears wal-mart e.c.t. Your just wasting you money, save up and buy a good one or, like the other post just use you hand. I can tell you this though I've had my buffer for about 5 years and have had NO problems and the results are awesome. You'll use 75% less wax and other compounds because it lays them on so effectively. I wax once every other week all year round and I still have not used the orgianl bottle of Medialion wax that I got with the Buffer kit. Also for a very good wax-topcoat Colinights 245 has some very good results.

Hope this helps
Eric
