There are a couple of skins and complete seats on eBay right now for 2nd gen Explorers. Not sure if they will fit 1st gens tho.

Am doing something wrong or is a new or slightly used front passenger seat really about $1000?! I have the powered Leather bucket seats, but the Lumbar support won't stay inflated in the passenger seat or the "butt squezers"
BTW the car-part.com site is awesome thank you for suggesting it!

Why exactly do they need to be replaced, is it just worn leather, or are the seats bad (like you mentioned about the passenger seat) if the leather is just warn, you should try some soft scrub (the lemon type with no bleach) and a wet towel, work it into the leather real easy, and keep it out of the stitching, then wipe them down with another wet towel, dry the seats off and apply a good coat of conditioner. I've seen this do literally wonders to old leather seats, and its a real old detailers / used car dealer trick to make leather seats look new. Give it a try. You'll be amazed at the dirt that will come off.

Keep in mind, this is not a regular cleaning procedure, this is for badly worn and discolored leather.

Will this do anything for creases/cracks? The color on mine is great, but there are creases and some minor cracks and stretches, especially in the driver's seat. I've treated them with Lexol, which seems to work for a day or two, but it's not a permanent solution.

It lessens the creases somewhat, but I don't know that it would work on the cracks. The leather on the Explorers generally doesn't age well I know, but I had a detailer do this to mine a year and a half ago, and it made them look brand new.
