Last fall I noticed that I was getting under the dash at infrequent intervals. I could shut the AC/Heater off and on then it would quit. Hadn't heard it all winter.

I just recently started using the AC this summer and the sound has returned. There are times that cycling the AC on and off will work and other times it won't. It only lasts for a minute or two, five at the most. Doesn't happen all the time but usually on the first startup of the day. Any ideas?

I was thinking maybe the blender door but I couldn't find what I was looking for. I also thought of the 4x4 module but it will cycle to 4x4 and back again without problems.

I have no idea if I am close or way off base on this one so if any one has any ideas I am willing to give anything a try.

Its a relay -- its normal.

Ok I must say this is getting quite annoying. It may be normal but is there any way to get it to stop? Would a new relay cure the problem and if so where does one find the thing?

I have the same problem. On mine it is a one of the HVAC servos. I had the rear one replaced under warranty, but the front one wouldn't do it in the shop at that time so they wouldn't replace it.
Somebody has probably hunted this down and fixed it before - or maybe we'll be the first!?
I wonder if we pulled out the surround around the radio and poked around if we could find it. Mine sounds like it is coming from right behind the radio.

Well that figures I replaced the rear one a couple of years ago so now I have to pull the dang thing apart up front. Well I guess it sounds like a weekend project in the near future.

Mine also sounds like it's coming from the behind the radio as well. So I guess we will have to poke around and do the job I will run to the Ford garage tomorrow and get their opinion. Just want to be sure before I pull the thing apart.
