i went offroad in the eddie

so i went offroad in the eddie 4.0 4wd. i think i need an inch or two above the stock height, i ended up dragging the steps a few times, but other than that it was ok, didn't get into anything seriuos but 4wd was a must on the road.
my question is how do you do a torsion twist? and how much lift will a 265/70give, i think that is the biggest tire that should fit with no issues? i dont want a huge lift, just a an inch or two so i can clear a little taller stuff on the trail.
and ithought the tow package came with ls? how do i tell?

I have a 05 xlt and just fit 265/75/16's just fine. that give about 1.5 inch lift.

32x11.50s fit i have them on my 92 explorer and i had them on my 99 explorer....and we used them on my friends 04 ranger once too...and it doesnt require any lifting...even on the 2wd

look on the sticker in the drivers door, if you see a D4 then you have limited slip (i am pretty sure about this). and look up 'torsion bar 101' for more info.
