my mounty is all prerunner'ed out and its only 2wd.. i kno alot of prerunners are 2wd.. but i wish i had 4wd.. last night i went mobbin through mudd fields with me and my friends stock tacoma and he barely got through some times and if it wasnt for his 4wd we would of been stuck... i didnt wanna take my mounty beceause its only 2wd and its embarrassing getting stuck.. my question is... i've seen someone turn a 2wd into a 4wd? how much is it??!!! and how do i start to do it? who do i turn too? how long does it take? if it's too expensive (2000+plus) then i might as well sell my precious mounty and get a beat up old (shall i say...T*coma).. oh yeh.. guys check out my truck.. the link is at the bottom of my sig..

The only way you could make your truck a 4wd for under $2K would be to take all the stuff off your truck and make it stock again, trade it in for a 4wd model, then put all the stuff back on the new truck.

Don't worry, I need a transfer case myself. Yesterday, I went fishing below the Pearl River spillway in Madison, MS, and I almost got stuck trying to turn around on the side of the road to get to a parking spot on the side of the road that would fit both the Mounty and the boat trailer. If it wasn't for the Mud Kings that I installed recently, then I would have been stuck. Today, my dad asks if I can just back down from my parking spot since the trailer was already in the water, and my foot slipped off the brake pedal onto the accelrator, and the vehicle rolls right into the soft mud. The mud tires do nothing but dig, and it took a super-duty to pull me out with the boat on the trailer. It's a good thing that I installed the tow-hooks last year.

Yeah I would go with silver. if you do that are you planning on painting the inside of the doors and the part where the doors close into? You probally already know this but it would look much better. And are you painting this yourself or are you having someone else do it?

You can do a 4x4 conversion on it. It is just a matter of Money and how you want to set it up. You would have to take those lift spindles off and get a different lift in the Front. I have done two 4x4 conversions on my early models and have looked at late models to see if it can be done easy as well and it can be done.

You could always bring it to me and I would do it for you
