I have nothing done to my truck suspension wise, all i have is 31 inch savero mud terrains, and until now 4wd. Tuesday night around 6, me and a couple of friends decieded to go in the woods for a lil just to fart around n have fun. We went down a path that i have gone down a million times. Its a pole line path that is four very steep rock hills that my truck can handle damn good in four low. So we get down to the bottom of the second valley and I deciede to turn around right after a lil creek. Well that was wher all hell broke loose and i mean broke. You couldn't tell it was soft dirt under me n I dug in right away up to the bumper. So we made some phone calls while we walked about two miles up and down these steep hills to meet our help. by this time it is around 8pm, its pretty dark out. Well after a half hour of waiting for my friends brother to pick us up he does and it was a 85 chevy short bed, 37 inch boggers, 350 dual exhaust and it was done up pretty nice, but NO LOCKER!! And that was the thing that bites us in the end. Well we get down there and hook up to my truck and start to pull, he couldn't get any good traction. Everything was turning to mud at this point from the soaked ground. Finally after ripping it hard for 15 mins he pulls me out. We turn around to leave, him goin first thru this lil creek and he was too far over to the right and slipped right back down the hill into a pond. He was in up to his headlights. Now imagine this truck has a 6 inch lift and 37's, it was pretty high off the ground. This was about 9, so he calls his brother and he brings out his Chevy with 35 BFG's AT and a 305 done up. Around 930 he shows up and trys to pull from the front and that wasn't workin, I was tryin to pull from the rear and that wasn't workin. So around 10pm ppl start showin up to help, a bronco with regular tires and my buddy with a F150 and 32 mud kings that were brand new. They looked at it and my buddy said he will be back with his F250 with the 460EFI. While he was gone, the idiot in the bronco says"O, I can pull him out!". He ened up screwing us by pullin him in even more. So around 11 my buddy shows up with his F250 and gives her hell from both sides. Well after a hour of these trucks tryin to pull from both sides i had to move my truck so when i do i get stuck in the mud again and then u hear the awesomly bad sound of an axle shearing off at the universal. so i now have a 2wd truck that is stuck but out of the way. well my buddy starts to give her hell and blows his driver side universal, the sparks lit up the undercarriage. After this the guys brother with the Chevy with 35's lines up to start pullin and he knocks off his driver side muffler so that is just hangin there. So now he have a Chevy stuck in the water, a Chevy missin exhaust, and two fords converted to 2wd. So my buddy hopes in his other truck he had out and goes to get an axle from his house. It is about 2am at this point. Well the two bros went home to change cuz they were soakin wet and cold. So I am there all by myself in my truck with the heater blasting cuz i was wearing shorts and a long sleve shirt, luckily i had a heavy jacket and a couple of long sleeves in my truck to put on. Well everyone gets back around 3am and we jack up this truck and start to pull the axle out to replace it. Well the idiot with the bronco deciedes to drive over to our side of the creek and parks right where i was stuck in the begining, which now is turned into a big mud pit, and of course he got stuck. so we had to pull him out. Well around 415 the F250 was ready to role again. So the plan at this point was to git the trucks out that could only move, which i wasn't one of them. Well my buddy with the F250 was stuck in a mud pit and buy the way he has 34 Pro Comp MT's, and was givin her hell again and just guess wat happened next. Well it did the axle blew again. So again he is 2wd, so he spent the next 45 mins tryin to get out. well around 530am we hook up the chevy and my buddy's other truck the F150 to the F250 and try to pull him across the creek, well that took forever with all the mud. Finally we did it and took a side path that we could get out easier on but there was a very big hump to get over to get out but we did. Well its 6am and the new plan is to leave the trucks there and come back with the backhoe later on after everyone slept cuz i was there for 12 hours already. Well around 530 pm wed night, I go to get the back hoe which is about 12 miles away. We started out but forgot to check the fuel level and thought the gauge was just open cuz my friend who owns it says he just put 10 gallons in it. So about 2 miles down the road the unthinkable happens. I don't know how many ppl around familiar with diesels but when u run out of gas u can't just fill it up and be on your marry lil way. O nooooo buddy. We had to drive 4 miles one way to get fuel and then got back around 7 and had to start bleeding the air from the fuel injector pump and lines. Well this wasn't goin to good and also we had to have it hooked up to his van to start it. well it is around 830 we have to call back up, my buddy with the F250. He gets out ther and after a bunch of running around and some hour and a half later around 10 we are one our way to the woods to start pullin ppl out. finally around 11 we get there. Now after 5 and a half hours of gittin this son of a ***** ther it only took 10 mins to pull him out but took about another 45mins to get him up the hill and out. and i had to be pulled out and when we does this my exhaust is knocked off from the runts from the backhoe pushin itself up the hill with the bucket. So around 1230 last night i finally got home but today i have alot of repairs to do to it. So lets recap this adventure, He had 2 big Chevy's, one stuck and lost his bumper from the chains and the other lost his exhaust, F150, Bronco who got stuck, F250 which blew axels twice and got stuck a bunch, and my lil explorer that lost the 4wd, exhaust, ripped a break line and ####ed up the transmission a lil. Now we did get some amazing pictures of the Chevy under water and gettin pulled out and the backhoe walkin up the hill but I didn't get them emailed to me but when i do i will certainly post them cuz they r amazin!!! WAT A HELL OF A NIGHT!!!!!!

wow that sounds like that really sucked :thumbdwn:

First off you have mad typing skills.
Second every once in a while you need a night like this to show you the weak points of your trucks
Third off glad everyone is okay, it can always be worse.
I never heard anybody try to air down their tires? stuck in mud = air down

Sounds like a hell of a couple of days, but it also sounds like a good time, seems like you guys have a good group of wheelers there who are willing to help each other out and that is never a bad thing.
:)

Good lord, that was a bunch of ****. Post the pictures man, I wanna see 'em.

Cool story and I'm sure you learned alot. Funny how the guy with 37's didn't even have a locker!

Now for the pics????????

How about a stinking high lift jack? They only cost $50.

it is amazing the guy nobody had a locker, i have a limited slip but that didn't help much, it was that suction mud, lots of ppl lost their shoes in the mud from it being so sticky. i am still trying to get the pics from the one guy yet but when i do i will post them.

sounds like it was awesome. on a sidenote this is very hard to read on a white backround. is it possibly for me to change the colour

My eyes hurt, but probably not as bad as the damage to your truck. I certainly hope there isnt anything to messed up with your transmission!

Cant wait to see pictures!

Had almost the exact same situation happen to me last year when my rig was completely stock and had on 30x9.5 road tires. Glad to hear everyone got out but I'm sorry about you loosing your 4wd. We all pay to play!

I agree with Jamie, you have some great typing skills ;)

That really sucks. It's good to hear you guys finally got out of there with everything. Can't wait for pics.

I know all too well what that "sticky" mud is all about...I had a case of it last weekend by myself, but I'm going with another offroader I met on this forum this weekend and he's got a tow sling. Hope you get everything up and running again real soon as the weather is getting better. Looking for the great pics

wow... that is all i can say. i just wish i had that many frends with 4 wheel drive. it doesnt even take my whole left hand to count em all. i had a frend get stuck at a 30-40 degree angle coming down a hill.. right into a swamp. i got him out of a river before with my stock x, but we tied my x to a ranger with toe ropes and my x to his jeep with a chain(stupid i know) and we couldnt get him out. but they ended up leaving it and using a tractor later on. Thank God for tractors. :)

yea i messed up my tranny pretty bad, i blew my serpitine belt, blew my power steering pump so i have alot to work on but now its time for the SAS and 302!!!

Bottom left corner of the forum.. there are a few different options :)

Man, you tell a helluva story. You should use paragraphs though lol

Cliff notes? :D

Definantly get yourself a 60" highlift and a couple of straps. BenS and I both slid down a steep trail while wheeling in the snow. It took up about 9 hours to which both of our trucks back up the will we came down in the snow. If it wasn't for the hi-lift we would have been screwed.

Sparknotes version anyone?
