IAC not for 97 explorer

I just called autozone to check a price for an IAC
for my 97 explorer but they said that it is not required for my car. Does anyone know wats going on or where I can get one. I havea the howling sound and i want to fix it.

You definately do have an IAC valve, at least I do on my '97 SOHC. I would try a different shop. The chances are even it you could get one from the first shop, it would be the wrong one. Save the hassles and try a different Autozone or better yet a NAPA, Checker Auto Parts, Pep Boys, Etc.

What howling issue is this? I have a 97 SOHC and I have howling but was told its the seperator place oriface tube in the transmission ?
i just pulled my IAC and cleaned it and there isnt any howling there? Theres is a TSB on this, but havent heard of one for the IAC?

Where did you guys hear abot this? what are the symptoms and fix?
