Alright, i took off the IAC to check it because the truck has been idling at around 1800-2500 rpm, depending on hot or cold start. I was told i should clean the IAC and decided to read posts on the procedure. Unfortunately i have no clue what "cap" supposidly comes off... On one end is a silver (same colour as the rest of it) sort of cap, and then on the other is the black sort of cap with the electrical connection.

Heres a picture of it apart from what i got apart

can anyone help me on this small problem? thanks.

Anyone?

The cap is on the other side of the valve. If there isn't anything on the other side then your valve does not have the cap. I have a 91 and there isn't a cap.

ook then.. i doubt i have one. Its just basically a round cylinder

Problem fixed.. brake cleaner does wonders.
