I was wondering if anyone knows what brand of lift I have on my explorer. Its around a 2" lift with extended radius arms. My dad bought the truck back in 91 and installed the lift some time around then. Its original color is red so I was thinking it skyjacker but i'm not sure. I've never seen a 2" lift with extended radius arms so I was interested.

Rancho.

Yup, that's Rancho.

Is this a good kit? I was looking to buy some cut and turned beams that are for sale in my area and maybe putting on some coils with 4-5" of lift.

It's decent. Thee's better and worse out there. It was a good kit for the money at the time. It's actually a 2.5" lift. I swapped in 4" coils on mine, for more lift.

Is there any way I could strengthen it? Are the radius arms good or should I get some new ones. I have some stock ones, is there any way I could lengthen those?
edit: I just found a bunch of pictures where the rancho kit has broken. Does anyone have any sugestions? Should I put on some stock brackets and go with some cut, turned and extended beams?

Box up and reinforce those axle pivot brackets (the one for the passengerside beam especially), and they aren't bad (I'm running them on my BII).

I would ditch the radius arms though, they're weak right where the welded assembly meets the tube section (not to mention they have absolutely no tire clearance). That tube they used is a bit undersized for the forces they see. The frame mounts tend to crack as well.

I lengthened my stock radius arms and built mounts for them.

More pics and info are on my BII Cardomain site.

thanks for the info. I just hope it will pass smog tomorrow. I seems to have a high idle and now its missing at idle.
