after putting 31s and 15x8s on my 93 2dr i noticed the tires stick out about an inch or so from the wheel well. ive noticed some second gen sports with wider wheel moldings and have been looking for a set to put on my 93. question is.. what years have the wider wheel molding? i was thinking 99+ bc most of the ones i see also have the license plate in the rear hatch as opposed to the bumper. if anyone has a defenite answer it would be greatly appreciated. im going tuesday to look for a set. its way way cheaper than buying aftermarket fender flares, and easier than finding a company that actually makes them for a 2dr.

I believe they were only available for the 2nd gen Explorers after '99. As far as I know, some components of the body style changed in '98 when they changed the look of the rear liftgate (like the license plate relocation you were talking about), the taillights, and the front bumper. So I would look for a '99 through '01 Sport.

Edit: Actually, I'm not sure on the years for the Sport, the body style changed quite a bit in 2000 or 2001, I forget which year.

I think the wider mouldings started in 97 - I say this because I remember looking at a 97 and noticing that they seemed bigger--

thanks for all the help.. hopefully they let me walk the yard. ive been doing quite a bit of business with one of the reps at the yard and ill test my boundaries tuesday.
