Hi, when i start my truck lately its been having a weird idle....itll be just over 1000 then something will click and it will drop too i guess where the 700-800 mark would be then it will stay like that for awhile then it will shoot back up to a little over 1000....what the hell is that about? Also why does my fuel pump cycle only sometimes...like everyone other month it seems like whenever i turn off the truck i hear it cycle when i turn it off....but then the next month it will not do that...whats wrong?

Has the weather (temp) been changing much recently? When the outside temp changes more than 30 degrees, I have to reset my computer and let it relearn how to idle. Anyways, try resetting the computer and let it relearn for about 10 minutes in neutral.

Alec,
When you say "reset the comp" do you mean by unplugging the battery cables, or is there another way to do this? This up and down Tejas weather is getting annoying. :)

It has been dropping below 30 here....

Yes, I mean disconnecting the negative for about 3 minutes and putting it back. Rod, you have problems with temp changes also? I thought it was just 'cause of my power mods.

Rod BTW, I got the PA up and running. I yelled at a stupid VW today going 50 in the left lane of Mopac with his hazzards on. What was he thinking?

Yaaa....looks like I'm having problems with the temp changes too.
Good to hear that you got the PA up and running, I think I started something here. I got it, told Kubben he got it, then TruckMajic, then you. It's fun as hell. :)

So just take off the negative not the positve?

Well, mine started doing the temp change idle yesterday. But it's been the same temp for about 2 weeks here. It started after I was going around in circles around an island strip to piss off my friend and make him dizzy because he always does it to me. The dumbass grabs the auto shifter and shoves it up into reverse or park, I don't remember which. There wasn't any bad noises, but now it does that idle thing. It takes forever when I brake for the transmission to finally disengage. Is this the same problem your having, or is my tranny messed up?
Thanks.

My idle was doing that when I had an intake manifold leak. Check for an intake manifold leak or a vacuum leak.
