Well the Civic is totaled. Sure you may ask how can you be sure. Well the 1990 Civic (ME) hit a 06 Dodge Ram 1500 (the A hole). You do the math.

I have talked to his insurance and they will look at it Next week (So some details well be left out). I did not want to even bother I really do not my insurance to go up, I turn 25 in two months and this is my beater car. Now Super Beater.

I was diving down road driving a safe speed. A line of cars on my left, in the left turn lane. I was in the right turn lane, guess where I was going... And low and behold a this Guy coming at me (EAST) thought NOW was a good time to turn left in front of me I could think of another.

I had only the time to think, damn. At the same I hear my tires screeching. I hit his front bumper, pass rim, tire, under the door all the way to the rear tire,

My left, right fender, windshield, hood, bumper, lights in the bumper, both turn signals, core support, and rad. But I **** you not my head lights work.

More or less we both are ok. He was telling everyone that is was my fault. The cop got there and I was proved right. And he got a ticket to boot . For violating my right of way.

Before they see it I will wash/ wax her.

So some facts I am 24 years old.
We switched insurers on the 27th of last month.
I do not want my insurance to go up. Florida is a NO Fault state, Still not sure what this means to me.
This was not my fault at all, on the report it says it was his fault.
I want to keep my car.
The KBB on my car is $2,275

Pics to come

The prob with keeping you car depends on the price of fixing the damage...It seems like it will take a little bit to fixer up so you may be better off for taking the money and gettin a new beater.... Glad your ok

Well it does seem bad, but there are worse out there. Here is the thing I drive around 100 miles a day, 4-5 days a week. The Civic gets 37-40 mpg, Explorer ummm 10-11 mpg. And I really do not care want it looks like, I was not even going to call and just live with it, but they called me.

I would not get my hopes up about getting anywhere near bluebook on a 16 year old civic, most companies pay acutal cash value. If they work like most they are going to pay what they are selling for in the area ( cheapest they can find) minus deductions for excess mileage and conditon prior to wreck. They willl also deduct for some odd ball things like the amount of tread left on your tires. I am going through the same thing with my '02 X. I just changed insurance on the 14th of last month. we had a wreck on the 4th of this month. It was a one car wreck since we got cut off and did not get the license plate of the person that did it. The claim is going against the person driving my truck since they are named insured on the policy. We ended up hitting the cement barrier in the middle of the freeway. I have been lead to beleive this won't affect my rates. You might get lucky though since it seems like you are claiming against his insurance which is how it should be if he was found to be at fault by the police. Since florida is a no fault state I am not sure if that means he has to claim on his for the truck and you have to claim on yours for the civic. If they do total it some companies will let you buy the vehicle back from them, where they come up with the price they sell it back to you at I don't know though.

Well here they are. It does not look as bad as I first thought. On a side note

I ask for it to be fixed, they will say no.
Then I will ask for a grand, fix the windsheild and I keep the car. They will say no.
Next I will ask for a $500, fix the windsheild and I keep the car. This might go ether way.

But it does not matter, The car will stay mine. I make too much money with it to give it up.

ah it doesn't look to bad should be pretty easy to fix up

well i took her to the car wash. She got a nice wash/dry and wax. I washed the engine. Then armeraled the engine, interier, bumpers, trim, and tires.

We will see. Tomorrow.

Well all went well. I got there 25 minutes early. The agent looked at the Civic took some notes, took some pics.

We went inside. There was a older lady, 70? She was nice, we talked some. I also over heard her agent talking about what they were going to do. I was being a little nosey to me sure she did not get taken advantage of. I asked her agent if she was going to get a rent-a-car for the 4 days it took to replace her door. And when she left I made sure she did not forget her sweater. She thanked me.

My agent came back. They said the Civic was worth $1500ish. He said in Fl 80% and over is totaled. So he said they will give me a check for 79% of it vaule. he offord $1230.03 and I keep the car. I said no. I want 79.9%. He laughed. And ok. I got a check for $1244.04. Extra $14.

So I am Very happy.

I will post a few more pics. I put some hood pins on today (to help keep the edges down to keep the air out) , I bolted the bumper back on,and ordered a set of clear corners.
