Ignition cylinder replacement.

anyone have any idea on how to get the ignition cylender out of a 92 explorer lost the keys so i decided to beat out the old one now i found another one with keys but im wondering on how it comes out.

Push up on the lock cylinder retaining pin with a 1/8 in. (3mm) diameter wire pin or small punch. Pull the lock cylinder from the column housing

The key has to be turned to the on position to depress the retaining pin. Once its turned then the retainer should push in easily. It should be located about 3/4 of the way down on the housing on the bottom (you should see a small hole with the retainer)

Always use caution when working on a steering column with an air bag. Disconnect the battery, and wait a minimum of 10 minutes before you work on the column.
