The explorer is up for sale... Once it's gone I won't be coming around here anymore... (nothing personal!!!) ;-)

I'll miss it (but I hope it sells).

u will be truely missed over here at the explorer forum trayson u should keep the explorer it looks bad ass.

that really is an exceptionally clean looking truck. what made you decide to let her go?

It says a divorce in his for sale ad is the reason for selling it

Good luck on the sale... I'm thinking about selling mine as well.

I'm kicking myself in the ass for getting the 2wd version and really need 4wd now. I don't know if I'll go for another explorer or something along the lines of an F150.

trayson sorry to here that you 2 have to seperate (the truck and you...lol)
I dont know if you recieved my message or not, but was wondering if you are willing to part out your grill and clear corners. I am extremely interested in the if you do decide to. please let me know

Yep, got divorced.

My "other" vehicle is a 2000 Jeep Wrangler that's HIGHLY modified for SERIOUS rock crawling and off roading. It's got many thousands in it and I'd never get it back by selling the Jeep. Plus, the Jeep is the primary equipment for my hobby of 4-wheeling (which is something that I can do with my son). If the Jeep went, so would the hobby.

The explorer was a sweet ride that was good for "family" and getting us up to the snowboard slopes and having plenty of room on road trips.

Plus, it's a chunk of change and too expensive for me to keep both rigs. And, the wife wanted it as part of the divorce settlement (thinking it had ~1500 equity in it, although it's turning out that she'll be lucky if she breaks even on it. Price is down to $17,799 now.)

However, don't feel TOO sorry for me. Because:

1) I had a 1999 ZX-6R that got stolen and I used the insurance money to get me most of the way to this 2005 ZX-6R 636:

2) I needed to get myself something that got better gas mileage than either the Explorer or the Jeep to use as a "daily driver"; so I picked up this:

It's a 96 328i with 115k miles, Supersprint Exhaust, Eibach Springs w/ Bilstien shocks, Short Shift, Angel Eyes, clear corners & sides, 19" wheels. I got it for CHEAP and love it to death.

It won't get me to the mountain, but I've wanted a 3-series Vert since before I could drive.

Thanks for all the positive support!

That Bimmer is sharp.....you'll really enjoy it

I'm seriously thinking about selling my all of vehicles for a new M3 cabrio...

That Bimmer is sharp.....you'll really enjoy it

I ***LOVE*** it. It's definitely one of (if not THE) most fun car I've had.

Well, it's official. on August 21 I sold the 2004 Explorer...

I will miss it though. A little bit of Irony: My Ex wife decided that she didn't want a vehicle that was as expensive as the 04 Explorer, and she didn't want something that drank as much gas... I laughed when I found out that she replaced the 04 Explorer XLT V8 with an 01 Explorer Sport Trak.

I mean, I suppose she will see some subtle fuel efficiency issues with the Inline 6 vs. the V-8; and a bit with the stock wheels/tires vs. the Chrome 20's... And, yes, the 01 probably cost a lot less than the 04... (Blue book on a 01 sport trak w/ average miles on it is ~$9,500) But I had to laugh because as always, she ended up talking out both sides of her mouth.

In case anyone wants to know, the explorer with 46k miles on it and all the goodies (DVD, LCD's, Grill, 20's, Gibson Exhaust, Tint) with the stock springs, and stock wheels thrown in sold for $17,600.

Oh, and how's this for a sweet deal:

I bought the Explorer on 2/1/06 with 20k miles on it and all the mods already installed.

I paid $18,000 for the Ex, spent another $1,200 for my sister to fly out and drive it back across the country, then paid about $1,400 in sales tax.

We drove it until August 2007 (a year and a half) and put 26k miles on it, and then I sold it for $17,600. So, basically I paid $400 + transportation + sales tax to use this rig for 26,000 miles. That's not too bad of deal.

How often can you buy a vehicle, drive it for a year and a half and sell it for $400 less than you paid? (I know it really cost me $3,000 total, but even then, that's only $0.11 per mile!) Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet. :D

Here's the new setup:
