This has happened for the second, and hopefully last time! My flex fan got caught up in the Radiator:mad: This time it might have been my fault, i went in a water puddle bought 3-4feet deep. What we think is that water got behind/on the fan and flexed/pushed it back agains the radiator:(

Some of yall may know, i had this problem last year, but we never figured out the reason for that one, but to help the problem, we ran a shorter Spacer.

Now i plan on going back to a Plastic Fan, and a Clutch.

I would love to go electric, but it just isnt in the future, for $$$ reasons..... Im already havingto cancel my Spring break plans, In which i was gunna goto Spring Break Nationals to see Typhoons Sound System, Oh well..

I was offroading with the Local Offroad club, and they are REALLY nice, we had it parked on the side, broke out the tools, removed the radiator right there, and fixed it with some stuff called Quik Steel, It held enough to get me off the trails, back on to the highway, and back to my house, The one Member that did this for me says hes had this stuff in his radiator for 2yrs now without a problem, But i plan on goign ahead and replacing the radiator.....

I just do not think the Flexfan benefits out way the Plasticfan/Clutch system:(

Oh well, but for the good news, My truck kept up with the jeeps on 35"s:D

Ill have more pics later, but the Club members got a lot more pics that im waiting for them to get them uploaded

PEACE

Thanks for listening to me ramble on........

So does anyone have anything to say bout this:D

Maybe another reason this might have happened?

Would it be smart going back with a plastic fan?

Would an Electric fan even cool it good enough?while wheeling?

Thanks
:D

Dont do it again, plastic fan is all that you need!

Just throw your stock one back in. And don't hit the water at 30mph. You do have all your breather lengthened, correct? 4 feet of water is pretty deep. How high does the water come up on the door?

Well my dad has a brand new electric one for his 1984 s-10(which i might build up as my trial rig) that we are gunan see if it would work, ill have to see about demensions and stuff.

yes all breather lines extended, and it might have not been 4feet, it was prolly 3 - 4, im not sure......

I dont even know what a flex fan is...LOL get a pic...

Nothing will cool your truck better than the stock one. But be careful hitting the water at high speed it could still flex your plastic fan enough to touch your radiator.

is.php

I have that, its free, so im gunan try and make it work, its a BRAND new Black Magic Electric Flex a lite brand Fan. Only catch is it was made for an s-10, but ive looked and the only differences are the mounting brackets, so im gunna make some different brackets to mount it up, and we should be good to go......

Alos if i see this Electric fan cant keep up, i can hook up a pusher behind the grill..........

If thats the fan I think it is, they suck, I read about ppl getting to hot with those all the time on the s10 board but good luck.

I run that exact fan in the Florida heat. I have never had any proplem whatsoever.

Me too

I run that exact same fan and Love it.... Hot Georgia weather is hell on most trucks. I've not seen my temp gauge go any higher than the letter "N" in the word normal.
