immobliser locked on

hi im new to explorers and so far im hooked,today i tried to rigg up a kill switch so that the engine will turn over to bring up oil for 5 secs or so then flick over to start,this worked fine,then when it came use it,turned over then went dead,the immob light still flashes with ign on, can anyone rescue me from a major f**k up!! is there any reset.thanks

My guess is that either the PATS system isnt allowing it to start now. The first thing I would do is disconnect the battery, and reconnect everything the way it was. then reconnect the battery. This could reset the system.

yippee found it,a blown fuse in the aux fuse box-fuse 19;25a

hi revs on starting when cold&sometimes when hot

hi i have cleaned the throttle flap & icv valve but whan i fire it up it jumps to 2000-2500 revs rattles then dies to 1100-ish then after a few mins of running it idles mint it does have a habbit of when the throttle is blipped it takes a bit to settle any ideas???.
p.s have just bought another one rattling like a demented rattle snake but this one starts up straight to 1100-revs & when blipped settles perfect.the engine light is on & performance poor (trying to cruise all the time) & smells bad like rotten fish i have been told that it is a faulty EGR valve or oxygene sensor any ideas.
