HELP --> exhaust question.....

I have the opportunity to buy a new dual exhaust system, with flow master 50 series muffler from a guy. The guy had this exhaust on his truck for about 3 weeks and then he rolled his 98 explorer. The system was bolt on, so he took it off to sell it. It is not damaged from the crash.
My question is...
1) Should I buy it?
2) Is a bolt on exhaust sysem going to be any problem over welded?

Thanx guys

exhaust question

Hello,Flowmaster makes a nice system and you should have no problems with it just make sure dual exhaust is legal for inspection emmisions in your state.I work in a NAPA store in R.I. and hear of a lot of people taking off their performance exhaust systems to pass the emmision test and then just put it back on after,Just something you can think about.But if you can get the system at a good price i say buy it (i would if the price was right)I sell flowmaster systems at the store at between $200.00-$350.00.See you Rick.

Hey Rick, A fellow Rhode Islander here. Question. Why do you think the exhaust would effect the emissions test ? I just put on a Borla acouple of months ago and my inspection is due this month.

hey is this rolled X with gray interior. i need rear cargo carpet. :-)

EXHAUST QUESTION

Hello,From working in the parts store i hear of nightmares at the inspection,But i think if you still run with the stock catalitic converters it should pass the test fine,By the way did you notice a big performance boost with the k&n filter i was thinking of getting one for my EXPLORER.See ya Rick.

After I put my K&N Air Filter in I didn't notice a "Big" performance gain but there was a MPG gain. Even with my Borla Cat-Back I didnt notice much of an improvement. A noticable one but not "major". It will take a lot of work to notice a major improvement. A supercharger should do it though :-)

Gray Interior

I actually think this guy does have a grey interior. I'll find out for you since he's just selling of his car piece by piece.

PERFORMANCE GAIN

Yeah i think i will throw in a K&N the way the price of gas is in this state the filter will pay for itself in no time.I did put in a set of autolite platnum plugs and saw some m.p.g. gains there,how about NOS for a 4.0!!!!
(just kiddin)Take it easy.Rick

thanks freshpwdr2k i need rear carpet, how about 30 bucks
