I'm gonna put a flowmaster 50 series on my 5.0 explorer. It will have 2 1/4 inlets and one 3" outlet with an oval borla tip. My question is. isn't there some sort of resonator after my stock muffler, if this pipe gets replaced, will there be any negative sounds from not having that resonator. thanks. Bob

On my 98 there was a resinator after the stock muffler. There will be no neg. results from not having it. If I am correct, that is what takes out the low noises (correct me if I'm wrong).

You will probably see neg. results from your 3" outlet though. There won't be enough back pressure and you will lose some of that nice torque that you presently have. You will gain HP but I, personally, would rather not lose any torque.

well...the piping probably will be more like 2 3/4" to the tip. thats not too big i dont think for a v8, and its just one pipe...not too. thanks for your help
