Recently on a road trip my car battery went dead and I had to have it replaced. After installing the new one I got about 100 miles down the road and tried to switch on my CD player and it wouldn't play any music. It reads as if there are no discs in the system but I know there are 6 and you cannot load any cd's into the player.

Normally I'd take it back and demand it be fixed but since now I'm about 1200 miles from the mechanic that's not an option.

Is there a reset process that I can take to get it fixed or do I have to take the entire console apart to get into the player? What's my best option here? Thanks.

My manual says nothing about reseting it. I would try disconnecting the power again and see if that works.

Sorry to bring up an old thread but, I am having the same issue after my battery died. Now, I get a "No Disc" when I know there are discs in there, I also get "Load Error" when trying to load a disc into an empty slot. Not sure what caused this to happen, I can't get any CDs out nor in. Is there any solution to this issue? I tried disconnecting and reconnecting the battery without luck. There are no noises that come from the disc changer when trying to eject or load, any ideas?

I have the same problem and tried disconnecting the battery with no success. Any other ideas? Thanks

I read somewhere, that once the car loses power the CD player goes into a "Shipping" mode and when power is restored and there are discs in there it causes several issues.

I can't see this as true as I have a 6 CD changer in my mustang and I always disconnect the power for storage with discs in there and never had any issues. Plus I can't see that bad of a design being put into production. This is getting annoying other then removing the entire dash and taking the radio apart, I'm not sure what to do.

It's a very common problem of this kind of radio. Sometimes the problem is a obstructed mechanism by a disc (why? I don´t know), you need to remove the radio and try to disconnecting and reconnecting it, if the problem persist, you need to remove the cover on the top (just one screw in the back) and push the disc.

Turned out that a disc somehow came out of place and got jammed. I'm not sure how this happened while the car was in storage but none the less, I got all discs out and it is now working properly again. My discs weren't so lucky.

I have had the same issue and without disassembly of the radio (it has been disconnected when I added my AUX input for my MP3 player.....

I am also getting LOAD ERROR.

HELP

06 Mountaineer

Has the battery recently died? As the battery dies the cd changer for some reason starts shuffling through discs, while it was doing this one disc popped out of it's slot and jammed inside the unit. I was getting "no disc" when trying to play a cd and "load error" when trying to eject/insert a disc. Are there any discs currently in the unit? If so are you able to play them?
