In-Dash Changers

Does anyone know if a 1999-2002 CD-6 in-dash changer is "plug-and-play" compatible w/ a 1998 xlt w/ the base system? If not, are there adapters available that will make them work? Right now, the only problem I foresee is that I don't have a factory sub/amp combo to go w/ it.
