I'm bored with my current tv/iPod setup, and looking to get something that is compatible to play videos off my iPod. I'd like to get a Pioneer or Alpine, but any other options that WILL play videos off the iPod and not just the songs, post up and let me know.

Thanks - Beau

I believe the Kenwood 7019 has the USB 2.0 port along with the ipod interface to play the videos. It also play any kind of video you put on a dvd. I put 30 music videos on a disc or even 6 movies in avi or mpeg and it played them.

I saw that one a while back, it rocks. When you push the screen, it clicks and vibrates on the button you push to simulate you pushing a real button. Not too expensive either. I figured there would be a bigger selection of tvs that would play video iPods...

My BIL has it in their Sequoia and it does rock. As soon as I get something worthy of putting it in... it's going in. :p:

I have the W200. Don't have an iPod though. Alpine has a $30 cable the connects iPod to it. You control the iPod from the deck. It does not do video, though. You have to use the video input on the W200 if you want to display video. But you lose the ability to control the iPod from the deck by doing that.

The new Kenwood DNX-7100 has ipod video direct and usb direct control.

Preciate the info. At least I know they are made now, but damn that thing is pricey. I paid $400 for my current tv and 100 for the iPod controller, so I'm wondering is it worth an extra $800+ to splurge just so I can watch music videos....:(

After reading more into the Kenwoods there are 3 models that do this which are DDX7019, KVT719 and KNX7100. Still need this adapter though KCA-iP300V. The reason the DNX7100 is much more expensive is the 2GB built in navigation.

Just out of curiosity, does anyone actually watch dvds on their in-dash monitors? I keep telling myself that I would but i know i won't...

I recently bought and installed the Kenwood DDX-6019 (I wanted the bluetooth capability with my phone)

I initially said I would use it to play movies in the truck but have only used it to play a movie twice and both times I wasn't on the road long enough for the movie to finish playing. I use it mostly for music just like I did with my previous Kenwood radio (KDC-X990). I think it will be used for movies mostly for road trips or when the girlfriend has her daughter in the truck.

I did for the first couple of weeks. But now only when we go on road trips.

When I first got mine, I put Mission Impossible 2 in there. My kid was thrilled but it was too distracting for me. Thats the last movie I saw on it.

Actually, Alpine now has an adapter that allows you to control the Video Ipod from the W200 touch screen.

You still use the aux input on the W200 instead of the dedicated Ipod input. This means a few things. First, you no longer have an available aux input for other things. Second, you can control play, pause, stop, up, track/video up, and track/video down via the touch screen. You can only use the search function via the Ipod itself. No big deal for watching movies, but for songs, the other cable that plugs into the dedicated Ipod input on the back of the W200 is better, because it allows for full control from the touch screen.

I've heard that Alpine piece only works with thier rear monitors. If you look at your link, it says nothing about head units.

It works and can be controlled via the W200. They just don't advertise it on their site because you're not supposed to have video up front anyway.

It uses the brown/white wire as a repeater to send signals from the touch screen (W200) to the piece (KCE-415i). This is the same brown/white wire that allows touch screen control for the TV tuner (TUE-151).

I confirmed this with the tech guys at Alpine.
