Has anyone had experience removing the inside fender dust skirt on a 1996 Limited 5.0 liter? It seems an easy way to gain access to the top shock nut, once the wheel is off. Would appreciate comments/procedure from those who have done it. Thanks Mike

Just rip it off, seriously. The only thing holding it in is plastic rivets.

Jason: Any danger of breaking the rivets or tearing the cover? Thanks Mike

It's hard to tear the skirt, it's pretty sturdy. You may break a couple of rivets. If you do, space the remaining ones out so they hold well, or go any auto parts store and they will have them cheap.

Man , grab some diagnal cutters and lift out the push clips that hold the fender liner in. Make your life a little more pleasant and do a nicer job. Even better than the diagonal cutters , buy a pannel poper.
