In theory it should, but not if you have bad ball joints causing the issue. With the pull to the right and the steering as well, you clearly have multiple issues. I would take it to a shop - $60 or so for an alignment isn't money poorly spent.

I get my tires aligned, rotated and balced for $40, nice change, stering wheel is good centered. I had also the inside wear at my fronts. In my case it started after I hit a rock on the highway during a hard rain a couple of months ago, I wish I would have taken before to alignement in order to avoid the inside wear. Also in order to do a proper alignement, some sofisticated aparatus are used.

My hard lesson learned was just ruining two 33" MTR's which cost me a pretty penny, Now i am in the middle of rebuilding the whole front end Upper and Lower Control arms and tie rod ends inner and outer. Get it checked asap.

97 Ford Explorer Front Inside Tire Wear

:exp:I have the same problem with inside tire wear on the front. I noticed it last summer and immediately rotated tires, but the rear then continued to wear and now I have steel belts out.

You can actually stand in front of the vehicle and see the top of the tires leaning in and the bottom leaning out. The shop said it was lower ball joints. I jacked it up by the cross member and proceeded to crawl under and watch for ball joint movement while I had a friend shake the tires from top to bottom and I see minimal play on the drivers side and no play on the passenger side. I purchased a caster/camber cam kit to replace the factory "block" but haven't installed it yet and am wondering why, when I moved the front tires to the rear they continue to wear till the steel belts come out??? That should have started evening out their wear!

Now, I'm wondering if maybe original factory control arms have weak bushings and that's what I'll be checking next. Any other thoughts on this situation???

Not sure but i think my explorer 2000 had a very similar stance which i thought looked pretty cool, until it cost me two $200 tires and also a complete front end rebuild that i just finished this week. I will see how long this holds out because i am not doing it again once this HD front end wears out she is getting a solid axle swap.
