Ok, I finally got around to putting the Copperhead brand fabricated shackles on my truck for the extra 2" in the rear. I really wouldn't recommend them unless you have 2 hours and some pretty heavy duty drill bits to devote to reaming out the larger holes.

Aaaanyway. On to the actual thread.

From what I understand, a torsion twist is a quick way to level the front of my truck 2", so I will. I also am to understand that in doing this I will need an alignment, or face the wear of my pretty new Cooper S/T tires.

The nearest guy that will align my tires is a good 12 miles away. Will it take a lot more than that distance for my tires to wear substantially? My alternate solution is to do the TT at my brother's house who lives about 1/4 mile away and have to sleep overnight at his place to drop the truck off in the morning.

What would you all recommend? Will the tires wear that quickly?

you would be fine for 12 miles...you would be ok for even longer then that, but long story short just do it right after and you'll be good

Yea, 2" won't through the alignment out substantially. 12 miles should be fine.

Alright, I just finished up the lift and took it for a quick test drive. Now I hear a little chirping. I sure hope the alignment will clear that up.

I measured it from the base of the wheel to the bottom of the fender at 35". Then I got it up to 36" after all that work...

One of the bolts is torqued completely. The other is about 3/4 turned. I sure hope that's not a bad thing.

Nevertheless, my tires don't rub at full swing and I love the tight-ass (pardon ze French) truck handling.

Depending on how much they are able to align it, you might need camber adjusters also. I've only lowered, not lifted, and I know they couldn't adjust mine enough, even with my maxed out camber adjusters I'm still off.

My thread on Camber Adjusters

Are you saying I may need new camber adjusters to lift it higher, or I might need new ones based on the stress of the lift?

You won't need new camber adjusters if you already have them. But if you don't have any, then the lift may alter the camber more then the stock position can handle. In that case, you'll need to add the adjusters to get the camber back into spec.

That's what I was saying. Should have explained it more.
