I walk. :-) ...'95 xlt
I have a 97 XLT 4DR. With the factory 15" Tear Drop wheel, I went from the stock 235 75 15 to 265 70 15.
After driving for a year and a half with them I noticed that the inside tire tread are all worn out from both front wheels. Is there anyone that had similar problem? Is this normal on bigger tires?

In a way, I like it because the truck has now has a little squat look to it. Kind of like a Baha-look.

bad alignment.

does your front end kinda sit like this / \

Ryan

You need an alignment

Thanks guys! It's just weird that both sides went out of alignment at the same time at the same amount.

it isnt wierd...... happens like that all the time... i perform alignments at work..... my explorer with 31s on it has the same tire wear... it looks like / \ when you look at fit from the front... i have about 1.5 degrees of negative camber per side......

So this is fine then? I do not need an alignment if I could keep the look. I like the look, you see?

If you keep it like that your tires will wear prematurly

I could live with worn tires. I figured after 3-4 years of use, it's time for me to upgrade to a wider set.

But would it damage the suspension?

It prolly isn't messing up your suspension, but it is extremely unsafe to like that in rain or snow. You are not putting enough traction on the ground as you should. My 96 has sagged in the front and is riding like / \ and the tires are wearing bad. I screach around most curves. I have an appointment for an alignment on Friday.

yeah, nothing will happen to the truck.... but tires will wear out really fast (like 10k miles) and it does effect the handling performance of your truck as well....

Actually, I have driven the truck for more than 20k with this allignment. I guess it's not that bad of an allignment. Either way I'll get them fixed.

Thanks.

My tires started wearing on the inside after 3K. The toe was out 25*.

You should rotate your tires every 3-5K.

i dont think your toe was out 25 degrees.... that would be like one tire sideways and the other straight

These were the specs before the alignment...
Toe -25*
L camber +1/8*
R camber +316*
L caster +5*
R caster +6*

Then it says...
Adj. R caster to +5 1/4* and toe to 0*

ok... those numbers might be accurate if you had decimals in there.....
Toe -2.5*
L camber +1/8*
R camber +.316*
L caster +.5*
R caster +.6*

Then it says...
Adj. R caster to +.525* and toe to 0*

that looks a bit more accurate
