Hi everyone. I recently rebuilt the transmission in my 99 3.0 2WD Ranger (XLT if I remember correctly, the plaque is gone now), thanks in part to very useful posts I studied of the good help you all have given others. It actually all went without a hitch (minus not removing the cat or y-pipe, a pain to work around but it was done) and the truck is running great right now.
As the title says, I purchased the torque converter, a Dacco brand F57FA from a local parts store before the rebuild and tonight I realized I got one for the 4r55e (4.0 Ranger if I am correct) and after rebuild now I know I have the 4r44e.
I will be installing a Ford updated valve body and another shift kit in a month or two when i save the money and wife will let me lol and I could pull it back out then and replace it, I don't want to honestly haha but if you think I should I will. I called the parts store back they said they don't carry a converter for the 4r44e and cant order it either. But I think iI could find one online.
I know a small bit of torque converters, not as much as many of you, do you think I've caused any harm to my freshly repaired transmission and do you know what the differences could be between the converters and if a replacement is necessary?
I look forward to and appreciate any and all help, whatever you suggest i will surely do ASAP.
Thanks,
Jesse
Edit: Sorry for all the extra information in case you don't need it and hopefully I posted this in the right place. I don't know why I didn't think about the converter before I put it all together, of all the things I could have messed up on the rebuild >_< geez
