I don't have a/c in my 92 and the guy that had it before me said that I could get more freon put in it or buy a kit to replace the freon based system. The freon has been taken out of it. Has anyone had to do this? What's it cost? Is it easy to install? Where can I get it? Any thing I should know?

You can buy the R-134A conversion kit from Wal-Mart for $29.95. If your A/C system is intact but empty it will work very well. Takes about half an hour to do and is very easy. The instructions with it are fine. I just re-did the system on my wife's Firebird with it.

yeah im thinking about converting with the Retrofit Kit from Wally World but ...how do i Evac my system of R-12???

Take it to a garage that does a/c work. A lot of places will do it for free because they re-use the old Freon that they evacuate.
