So I bought the popular halo fog light projectors for the 4th gen ford explorer , I'm wondering on how to get the halo ring separate from the fog light them selfs, like if I just want to run the halo ring how can I wire it so that only the halo ring runs, should I wire it to my headlights so anytime they're on the ring is on or is there a way to do so via the fog light switch.

if you can gain access to the wires I would wire the halo off of the running lights

That's what I'd love to do but im not sure if I splice into the headlights if it will work right...

if its not a high current light then I would tap into the orange marker on the side of the headlight this is only a running light and does not flash with the blinkers... if you think the halo will draw too much current just run a relay off this light and tap one side marker and power both halos

I used the orange marker bulb on the top left spliced the blue which is the hot and ran it to the halo ring I'll be posting some pics when it gets park . Thank you.

i like it when only the ring is on this was a good choice

Same it will look so good when I do the eagle eye headlights too.

Hey, where did you get these particular light assemblies from? Does the bulb remove so I can replace it with an HID set up? Thanks :)

Thanks for sharing that link. I didnt even think to search Amazon for them, I was on eBay and theyre quite a bit more pricey.

I wonder what would be involved in adding a "real" halo in place of that 1 or 2 LED ring. (By real halo, I mean a halo with LEDs shining all around it, like the Eagle Eyes kit for the headlights. These fogs have a ring, with an LED shining into it to make it glow, hence the bright spots at the bottom)

Looks alot better in those pictures above than I thought it would though, might just have to get a pair for the X im picking up this week. Are they adjustable? (Up/Down and/or Left/Right?)

Sadly no but for 40 bucks you can't go wrong but beware not as much of light comes with it so buy a led light bar and run it on the floor

Nick, could you post some nighttime foglight-only beam shots?

My 06 has a missing lense, these projectors are the cheapest replacement, OEM clears are about $55, and then the smoked ones are like $70. I like the smoke ones best, but cant justify that much on a small cheap housing. However, I do actually want usable light output, and will be running HIDs in whatever I go with.

prices are comparable and the light output of the stock style is worth staying with...even more if you add hid's

That's probably the route I'll end up going with, but I'd still like to see some beam shots if possible.

I'd like to open them up and do some kind of halo around the whole perimeter of the lense. I think the rectangular halo at the bottom and then the circular ones in the headlights will look awesome together.

They give off maybe a 3' x 3' circle of light their meant for looks if I remember tonight after work I will gladly take pictures and post them but if you really want them to light up you need the oem ones and you can always smoke the housing
And hids on the fogs I have isn't worth it my friend had the same ones on a sport track and it doesn't even give more light he put them to match the ring but I keep the center off at all times and just have the rings wired to headlights so when the headlights turn on the halo ring does as well
If you want I'll sell you my real fogs

Damn, that's even worse than I thought. I love the "updated" look they give the front end, but not if they're that bad. I'll definitely be going with OEM fogs then. If you don't mind, I'd still love to see some beam pics if you remember. No biggie either way.

What do your OEM's look like? How much you want for em?
