My 2003 Limited did this the other day, and I don't remember seeing it do it before. When I started it, all the needles for all of the gauges (speedo, tach, fuel, temperature, etc...ALL of them) swept to their maximum value, sat there for half a second, then swept back to zero, then to their normal indications.

I've seen the truck do this when running diagnostic gauge tests, but never just at startup.

Has anyone seen this happen before?

if battery was disconnected this would happen

Nope, no battery disconnection. Truck was sitting outside my office all day, and it did it when I got in to go home. Haven't seen it since.

x2

when you dissconnect the battery the vehicle will have to do a network test the next time you start it. its nothing to worry about. its just a network test...checking to see that all the gauges work. some cars do it every time you start them....my gsxr does too...scares the crap out of me sometimes
