This morning I ran a can of Amsool Power Foam through the motor.

I removed the KKM and simply sprayed the can into the NAF while advancening the throtle a lit to keep it running.

Idled very rough after reinstalling the KKM. I took it for a 10 min spin and when I got back, the idle was the best its ever been.

The stuff seems to work......

nice.. is there a recommended mileage at which u use it? or just whenever u feel that ur idle is kind of rough?

Take a look at Amsoil fact sheet....Dead Link Removed

Um, I've never really cared much about this topic in the past... so i haven't followed it. There's alot of info, and nearly too much to sift through fer a simple question of mine.

Does this foamy crap stuff work on the whole intake, like fuel injector cleaner is suppoed to work on the injectors? Does this crap just clean the intake from all the gummed up residue that's built up?

Pete

It gets into the upper and lower intake manifolds too, and you may see some black smoke come out of the exhaust when it's working. As long as you drive the truck pretty briskly for 10-15 minutes after you spray, you'll be ok.

BTW, when I used Power Foam I sprayed it directly into the throttle body. I cleaned the MAF separately.

I tried doing the SeaFoam that way and ended up causing my engine to backfire through my throttle body shooting a flame out the throttle body all the way to the grill. After fishing out the dropped can of SeaFoam and soothing my sore head from hitting my hood, I put my intake hose back on and sprayed through the MAF.

:chug: Sorry man, but that put a smile on my face after I got mental image of what happened. Hope you're not burned and your head is ok though.

that's funny man....i used the amsoil power foam and it did blow some smoke...and it seemed to idle better i have 175k on mine so i figured it was bout time. I didn't see a huge cloud of smoke, maybe because earlier this year my TB and intake manifold was cleaned out. Give it a shot man. I'm a big amsoil nut so my vote goes with power foam.

Ouch man, Sorry about that episode Robert. Reminds me of one time I pulled off the lower radiator hose on a supposedly empty radiator and got a nice wet blast of coolant right in the face. I was laughing and cussin, luckily none of you guys were around to see that. :)

I wouldnt go through the MAS, teh throttle body.

Yes it will remove most of the carbon built up inside the manifolds and also on the piston tops.

It works GREAT.
I only have experiance with teh Sea Foam.

ok You guys i`m a biginner with this...where exactly do you put this stuff ?? pic would be great !! :o) I would like to do it but I don`t know exactly where too !

thank`s

It has been beat like a dead horse.
DO a search, there is all the info you need on how to apply the stuff. Also their are detailed instructions on each bottle of Sea Foam.
