I've read tons about the P0174 code and hard starting caused by the intake gaskets. But they are all seem to be about the SOHC V6. Are the gaskets a problem spot on the OHV motor as well?

I ask because my 2000 Sport popped a P0174 code this morning. Im not too concerned - she runs great and this morning was the first frost cold morning we've had here. I cleared it out with my trusty bluetooth tool and it didn't come back on my 20 minute drive home. I'm just wondering if I should plan for that repair one day?

It is possible. Usually you will also get a P0174/P0171. It is good to look at freeze frame data for your code. That will tell you the RPM and temp when it happened. Otherwise it is a guess.

That is typical. The gaskets shrink in the cold and a code is triggered, then when the engine warms the gaskets expand and seal again. They are easy to replace on the OHV.
