intake questions

I just got an X a few weeks ago and I took it wheelin and noticed that I got some water on the air filter, and the last thing I want to do is hydrolock it, so what suggestions do any of you have on places to relocate the intake or get rid of hte box and go with an open element, etc. thanks
Also i was reading up in intake kits, and i knw a lot of people have used them, but have anyone noticed any improvements with an intake kit?

Short of a snorkle you will always run the risk of getting the element wet. As far as improvements most people on this forum will say the first two things to do to improve performance is intake and exaust.

Thanks, do you know any company that makes a snorkel for 1st gen's?

I don't know if anyone makes one for a first gen. I think people on this board have either modified another model snorkle or built their own.
