Interchangeability of decks between 1st and 2nd gen.

I have a Kenwood EXcelon deck in my 1991 Explorer, and am planning on moving it into my 1996 Explorer. Is the wiring harness link is the same from the deck to the car on both, or do I have to get a different wiring harness for the deck to a 2nd gen?

It will be different. I have a 99 adapter for my MP8017 MP3 player. Regards,

the gray power plug is the same so don't cut it off, but the speaker harness is different. also; though the 96 has a factory amp you don't need to bypass it. it will use the speaker level input
