interco questions?

I've had the 34" TruXus M/Ts and had a horrible expierence with those tires. They would not balance (and this is 5 out of 6 tires - not just 4) and most of them wanted the equivilent to 2 pounds on the tires to balance it out. Also, the tires had HORRIBLE run out - they'd spin on the balancer and would just wobble back and forth - not straight at all!

The 33" SSRs on the other hand are great! I've loved them ever since I got them. Although at high speeds they give me a shake, but super swampers aren't made for 65+. A guy I know ran some super swampers on his Hummer H1 and he blew one on the interstate because they aren't made for that type of heat and everything. Anyway....TruXus suck -- SSRs Good! Hope that helps!

I'm sorry man but if you want optimum performance in times you actually go offroad, don't settle for anything less than the SSR or other member of the TSL line. The TSL radial, LTB, SSR, TSL, all good tires. Supposedly the Truxxs is ok but I've read a lot about how they tend to kinda explode on frequent high speed highway use. In my opinion the SSR is the best that interco makes (hence the second most expensive next to the bogger). I've seen the LTB and TSL radials in action many times and both chewed through everything very well.

One thing that needs to be pointed out is the diff between bias ply and radials. Bias ply rides bad, loud as hell, hard to balance, and wears faster that than any radial. SSR and TSL radial are radial, LTB and regular TSL are not.

Now the other thing is if you want tires that perform decently but are more tame for highway use, you need to look at the other one's you're thinking of. The BFG MT, Procomp MT, Dueler MT, MT/R (wears fast), Destination MT, etc. These tires usually last much longer, ride better, and are quieter. I have duelers and love them but BFG is kinda considered the benchmark these days for streety mud tires.

I had no problems at all balancing mine. I asked around and only one guy out of about 15 around here had balancing problems.

I know guys with them on Jeeps, F150s and Chevy 15 - 3500 that run them every day at 65+ and your the first one I have hear of with a blow out story. Everyone (except you) that I talked to before ordering my TRXUS MTs love them. They are awsome in the snow to the point that alot of the plow trucks are running them this year.

skoobydoobiedew, thats a good price, but check out www.4wheelcustoms.com they will beat 4WPs every time and the customer service is 100% better.

question...

*Qty Part No Name Price Total Update Delete
25031 Pro Comp Mud Terrain 31/10.50R15 $149.47 $597.88*

thats at the link you gave me splashman... for $7 more i can get those tires mounted on rock crawler rims, balanced, etc. free caps, lugs, etc. w/warranty at 4wheelparts..
so i guess my question is how do u figure that that is cheaper? i can see better customer service because i have heard about bad customer service from 4wheelparts... still... am i missing something? thanks again!

free shipping is great - especially on tires/freight.

Give them a call. Let them know 4WPs is cheaper and they will match the price or do better. They also show free S/H and mounting/balance on all tire packages.

I don't know if you guys have noticed this also, but I have noticed in the last 3 years 4WP is always changing it's prices. They are all the time bouncing tire prices and I can usually find any product I want cheaper somewhere else. Also, the only experience I have had at 4WP is when my brother ordered 2 LTB's for the back of his Tacoma. They arrived almost 2 months later.

I've ahd the 31 x 10.5 trXus MT on my Jeep for over 2 years. They are a fantastic tire for someone that has to use it for DD, but doens't want to sacrifice offroadability for trail use. Mine have pulled great in rocks, wet rocks, mud, snow, you name it. I shoudl get between 25 and 28k miles out of mine with regular rotation.

If you're on-road a lot, the BFG's are probably the longest-lasting M/T. The Pro Comps aren't bad either. A Swamper TSL and LTB are similar but the LTB has a much softer compound. Great off-road but don't last real long. I wouldn't put anything from Interco on a vehicle I drove faster than 25 mph except maybe SSR's. Thornbirds are a poser tire that work very with lots of Armor All cruising the mall and the girls will be impressed. Do it on a dry day though, they're downright dangerous in the rain.

Heck, if you read their house magazine they have different prices on different pages in the same issue. :p I got my Warrior shackles real quick though, no problem.

Just to chime in on this, I've been running 33" Trxus MT's for the past 10k mi on my Ex, which is my daily commuter and off road vehicle. Haven't had any problems, they run real quiet and perform great in mud and rocks and such. Mine have very little wear, I expect to get 30-35k out of them at least, but a buddy of mine bought his at the same time , 35's for a diesel f250, and he's tearing through them like every other tires he's had, he'll probably get 20k from his. I'd say the Trxus MT's are an excellent choice, and a good overall tire, and would choose them again if I had to, especially compared to procomp muds. They were relatively cheap too, I got mine for $130 apeice through 4wp, and balancing them was no problem. Also, my mileage is about the same if not better since I switched from procomp muds, and I went from 3.73->4.56 gears too. But I run my tires at 38-40 psi on road, if that means anything to you. Good luck in your decision.

Just a side note, I don't believe in the buy3 get one free, since the price for the 3 is about the same as 4 when they aren't running their ad, markup and all
