He is correct, unplugging the switch at the latch will cause it to not come on.

EDIT-2 months ago I did purchase a new battery...
I just went out and checked and the turn off lights timer circuit is working as designed. I have close to a box full of vinyl siding hanging out of the back and when I get it out I am either going to remove the hatch interior panel and look for that white/purple wire or it looks like from the schematic if I interrupt the white/purple wire between the GEM module and the rear of the vehicle It will disable it. I bet that can see a harness inside the left rear interior panel where the jack and handle stow. Thanks Y'all!
