Its the wife's car and experiences an occasional hard start.

Very recently replaced the FP relay (AC Delco), fuse; and within the last two weeks the fuel pump with a complete new Carter assembly. Low pressure verified by a fuel pressure gauge has been a prior cause; I thought the new FP would solve this problem. I have a fuel pressure gauge and haven't been around to measure the FP when the problem now occurs. Vehicle is SO CA, no rust.
No codes thrown either.

The ignition key assembly is very sticky and stiff to insert the key and turn. Have there been any instances from other members with regard to key assemblies that have poor contacts or start to fail. Perhaps bad ignition key assembly contacts 'can" prevent the relay from triggering the fuel pump to pressure up during the starting sequence.

I should add that my wife is hard of hearing and there is no way for her to hear whether the fuel pump has come on.

Thanks in advance.
