Is a V8 trans swap needed??????

If I swap from a 4.0 to a 5.0, will I have to swap out the trans???? I have heard that the 4.0 trans will bolt up to the 5.0 engine, but it will wear out really fast.

But I was wondering, what if I got a Ford racing clutch kit for a mustang and put it in the 4.0 trans. The kit I'm talking about has a 9.5 inch disc, and comes with a new flywheel. I think I might need to get a new slave cylinder the also, but not sure.

From the sound of it, 4.0s shouldn't even have 4.0 transmissions. Let alone 5.0s.
