Is it my auto hubs?

Recently while I was using 4low, my front left side made a loud pop. Now when Iam using 4x4 it pops both in and off road. It dosen't pop all the time, it does it occasionally, and only on the front left. Someone told me that it is because i broke the hub or something, but other people say the axle, bearing. No one really knows, but maybe you will. If I have to get warn hubs, it is fine. Thanks

Hey it sounds like your hubs but go out and put it in four wheel drive in a place that the wheels will spin and gas it if either of them pull then it probably isnt your hubs. one thing to do is take your wheel off that side and look into your hub if it looks like it is stripped then go get you some warns I have never heard of an axle messing up .

I went thru the same thing with my '92. Driving along, usually not when I really used the 4wd, but just in cruise mode, then "BANG!" Like a hammer was hitting the axle. Just a bad hub, lots of plastic parts in them!

Had the hubs replaced under warrenty, but if your paying, go with the WARN hubs!

It's probably your hubs. I had a similar situation with my 91 sport. I got in a jam and my left front started making a racheting noise. I opted for the WARN manual lockers and for 170 bucks, it was a great upgrade.
They are real easy to install and very dependable. It would be worth the money to upgrade. Good Luck!

Hey Nickb...don't do like I did and replace kaput auto hubs with auto hubs. You will regret it once the new hubs go also. Go to manual hubs. They are cheaper and far more reliable. Scores of us have gone to manual.
