hey everyone ,
i just replaced my gas lines on my 1991 ford explorer. i had to replace them both so i found a donor truck and got good lines. my question is is it possible to connect them backwards? do u know what i mean? would the truck run at all if they were backwards? i cant see it working but it is the only thing i can think of. when u try to accelerate now the truck seems to boug out. if i let it accelerate on its own it will go but when i goto give it gas it it almost stalls. in the last couple of weeks i have done gas lines, injector o-rings , plenium gasket, intake gasket. changed the fuel pump and sending unit because the other one was rusted to crap. i also cleaned the injectors while i had them out as they were pretty dirty. any suggestions?

I dont believe it is possible to reverse the lines because the are two different sizes. And plus of you were to somehow put them one backwards it wouldnt run at all because fuel pressure would be on the backside of the fuel pressure regulator(which only flows in one direction. which would stop fuel from getting to the injectors completly.

i was hoping i was right i didnt think i could put them bkwards

as wierd as this is if u check out the gas lines at the fuel filter they both have the same size end. i dont lie . i know there is a 5/16 and a 3/8 at the fuel pump but they are both 5/16's at the fuel filter lol. wierd eh. but i was thinking it could not run if there backwards but i just wanted to double check thank you. so i now need to figure out why i am getting a sluggish or hesitant acceleration. i forgot it also has a new fuel filter also.
