Today when I had my oil changed they told me I have too much transmission fluid. He said that having too much can make my transmission not shift into gear right away and slip. And when he mentioned it, I realized that my transmission DOES take about 1-1.5 seconds to shift into gear when I'm parked or backing up..... is that normal? Is there such thing as too much transmission fluid?? Should I have it changed/drained??

i dont know if thats your problem (i dont know enough about that stuff to diagnose it), but i DO know that too much transmission fluid IS BAD. tranny fluid level has to be just right; not too much; not too little.

I haven't had it changed since I bought it in August.... so I'm not sure.

Well not knowing its track record, I would change it asap and refill with the proper amount.

Good luck....

i agree. you might also wanna change any other fluids that youre unsure of their last "change date."

Yea I agree with you guys... I just talked to my dad, and in the spring we're gonna take it in to our local guy and have my fluids changed, radiator flushed, new plugs/wires put in, tune up, fuel injectors cleaned..... etc. Thanks for the help....

Overfill can cause foaming

Which will put air into the system. It would have to be very overfilled to cause problems. Mine is currently overfilled and I have no problems. Part of your problem could be the low/reverse servo O ring that plagues the A4LD and this 4R55. Another problem could be loose valve body bolts. If this happens when the vehicle is first started cold it could even be a partially clogged filter.

When mines cold, like when its 10* out and just started its like the TC doesn't slip, like it'll almost stall then engine. Anyone know what this could be?

Last year when I started experiencing tranny problems, basically a slip from 2-3. It ALL boiled down to too much tranny fluid.
