My transmission downshifts aggressively when full throttle on my sport when driving 45mph or less, which I like. Once I hit about right at about 50 mph and go full throttle, the explorer just steadily accelerates without downshifting. It just doesn't move like it does when flooring the car when speeds are less than 50mph.

Before I head to the dealer I wanted to check with everyone here and see if that's normal or if anyone can duplicate this. It's always been consistently like this and the transmission seems ok otherwise, but it sure seems to feel less powerful once I floor it at 50mph or highway speeds.

I think what's happening is that it's downshifting into 1st gear below 45mph and only down into 2nd gear above that(or around those speeds).
It could be possible that it's only downshifting into 3rd, which might be why it's not pull as hard.

How fast are you applying the throttle? Are you stomping it, or briskly applying more throttle?
I notice similar behavior in my Sport. It really takes off when stomping it at about 40mph, but doesn't seem as aggressive above about 50, which could just be the gear change.

If you get a scan tool (or Forscan and a dongle), you should be able to stream or log data to confirm what is happening with RPM, what gear the trans is in, and so on to see if it is a problem or just the way it is, as mentioned above.
