I am trying to went a trailer my for my 06 Explorer, and according to U-Haul its capable of towing any of their trailers 5x8 or 5x10. If I told them I had a Mountaineer, its allowable. They are exact same vehicles, but according to the U-Haul representative I spoke they are 2 different vehicles, lol.

Been discussed several times over

So If I get a mercury badge and just tape on the front of car, thats what I did about 15 years ago, once. I doubt it would work again lol. The person never looked at my car, he just looked at it from a distance away, when I said mountainer lol.

Yeah, that was due to those tire blow out deals back in the mid 90s due to those defective tires they were installing at the time.

U-haul wouldn't rent a car hauler to me when I owned my '96 which was the generation that was being effected.

I now own a 2006 model. I figured by now they would rent trailers to these models. I now own my father's 1998 Chevy conversion van (wife just had to have it for trips to the beach) but it's a bit unstable because it's a half ton and as a high center of gravity.

I figure if I need to haul something, I'll just pick it up with the Chevy van and hook it up to my Explorer when I get home. Since I feel the Explorer is more stable than this van.
