How pissy is U-Haul going to be?

rack and pinion steering system, tall skinny tires

I'm running + offset 8" rims with 255-70-15 tires (same height as the stock tires) on my 98 QUOTE]

What I left in the quote is things that were not on the Explorers at the time. I may be wrong but this was more of a 1st and early 2nd gem deal. all models that came later only carry the problem because of the name only as there were changes by Ford also because of it and the real blame was also laid on the tires them self that is why it was also a firestone tire recall over it.

So again people not knowing how a high center 4x4 drives or handles in an emergence maneuver is the problem. You simply can not maneuver them to this day like you can a sporty car in an emergency. so when a tire say would blow and the driver panic then over corrected in there maneuvers the truck did as any auto would do when shifted from 70 miles an hour to sideways at 70 they roll over and you can slap the sticker on the underside standing up that says if you can read this roll me over and so now I end my part of beating this dead horse.

Hey it's okay we all do it now and then even if we try to hide the fact LOL

U-hal Suck when it comes to us its all because of those Firestone tires who ya i work for Firestone it was not the tires that Ford put on the Explorer it was the TPS on the Explorer you can not put 26psi on that sixe of an SUV and expet it do not have body roll so let blame it on the Enginers at Ford way back when it just suck what i do if i need a trailer is use an other truck to get the trailer and then pull it with my Explorer on problems

well i worked for ford and yes the pressure was low the other tires they used outside of the firestones never did that at that tire pressure. also the tahoe/yukon used the same tires and had the same issues at the "correct" pressure. just dont think it was really a ford thing. yes better suspension would have been a better choice for a more pleasant ride vs the pressure but the tires were pure s*it and almost killed a couple of us in our ford E series vans just outside of vegas.

Whenever I see a thread like this I have to add:

Uhaul is stupid.

^^^ Can we make that into a permanent bold fixture on the main page of the forum? :D

Rented with the Monty. Listed the car on the trailer as a 94 Ford Escort.

From the Corporate 800 number I was given a reservation for a car transporter to transport my EBX. However, I was not permitted to pick up the trasporter with my EBX to take it to the motorhome where I then intended to pull my X behind it. Transporting the X is OK; towing it to the tow vehicle with the X is NOT OK, based on my 800 reservation.

My 4 door EBX, 1994, is about 4400 lb.

I would not tow a UHaul trailer with my X by deception due to liability in case of an accident.
