My rear brakes started grinding really bad today out of the blue, so I look and the left rear pad was down to metal and the rotor was severely grooved. 15 minutes later I had rotors and pads from the parts store, and in another 30 minutes I had pads and rotors installed on both sides. Granted it's not a hard job, but it got me thinking and I realized I've been fiddling with Explorers for almost a decade. I learned how to drive when I was 15 years old on my old black 95.

I love it when projects get easier over the years:D

I know the feeling. I've been working on them since '95....

Can't say I'm anywhere near your guys experience level. But having owned two Explorers I can say things are far easier with the second Ex, then it was with my Sport.
