My cousin is currently workin on a 95 Jeep Wrangler YJ. He's putting full length chevy 8 lug axles under it and using a 4.0 HO engine and tranny from a Cherokee XJ. Problem is the front diff on chevy axles are on the passenger side, jeeps are on the driver side. He thinks he can just turn the transfer case 180 degrees to make it work. Does anyone know if this is possible and what kind of problems would come from doing that? Or is there a transfer case that would work?

no you can not flip the tcase. A dana 300 tcase out of a 80-86 cj7 should fit. Any six bolt 23 spline passanger drop tcase should work. this is just one example.

Yea thats what i told him. I seen the Dana 300 in an Advance Adapters book with the info on it. So the D300 will bolt up with no mods? Oh and i see your looking for a 4.0 ohv? I got one id let you have but im in Alabama though. heads are cracked.
