Yea i would hit them with a light sanding and clean them real good and you should be fine.yep those look like them and cheaper.

God i dont know,id say over 2000 !! They get real hot.im off Monday and we next week and for now i dont have plans,if you need any help let me know!:)

ill just leave em as is for now. im 50/50 on the radiators being painted.
sucks, im off tomorrow lol

quick question, am i even doing this right? cause it refuses to move. the tool just pulls away from the pulley and im afraid the bolts are gonna fly out

looks like your doing it right.

Your hitting it with an impact gun correct? it also may help to spray some PB blaster in/around the bolt and get someone else to tap on the pulley with a dead blow hammer. Once it starts to move your golden. The trick is breaking that first friction seal.

i dont have any impact tools or air tools. im using an adjustable wrench lol
i googled real fast and there may be a washer behind the bolt i took out? is that what the tool is pressed against in the pic? if so i guess i need that out then lol

Oh well theres your problem dude.. You really need to hit that with an impact gun, it's really the only way your going to get it out. Especially if your bending washers like that.

If yours is the same as mine.. it should have 4 holes in the pulley, two smaller ones with threads and two large ones without? If push comes to shove you can go by home depot or lowes and get two bolts long enough and skinny enough to just go through the large holes, put a 1/4" nut on the end of them, on the other side of the pulley and THEN use the puller with an impact gun. That took that B**** right off for me.. twice. (I forgot to put the cam retainer in.. whoops)

I'm not really sure what washer behind which bolt your talking about? Explain prrease?

Put the bolt back in there.

Thread the bolt about to engage about 8-10 threads.

THEN start pressing it off.

Right now, your aren't doing anything.

Ryan

I left the bolt in but unscrewed alittle but i uce a flywheel puller.what is is pressing against?

Exactly jd....

You need the bolt in there to transfer the pressing force to the crank, and allow the balancer to slide off of there.

Ryan

google came up that there was a washer behind the stock bolt. and yes ive tried nuts with bigger bolts on the other holes. i just broke 1/2" off the bolts that came with the steering kit lol

spdrcer..... that was awkward.. google came up with an EF link about this, which had your advice for it in it :shifty_ey
ac bolts sounds like a good idea. and just thread the stock bolt in slightly(basicly so it doesnt wobble?) and then continue with the tool as normal?

thank you spdrcer! that advise in the thread i found helped! used the ac bolts and when you said the stock pulley bolt comes up short after awhile, i realized that after it was to late. had to take everything off and ratchet the bolt back out cause it got to tight.
luckily the puller bolt from the steering wheel kit was perfect slid that in there and redid the thing over and it plopped right in my hand :D
