Joining the bandwagon, my 4L OHV build

TTY = Torque-to-yield

Basically tightening it until the bolt actually stretches....like what you do with head bolts. Usually the advice is to replace these types of bolts if you remove them...the idea is that the stretching weakens the metal and you don't want it to fail.

o sorry the one from Ohio are fedex, same weight!!!tty torque to yield.idk about those headers, your have to look at them and see how they are welded.rings should be fine with stock size

ah ok. that explains the head bolts. never understood why i bought new ones cause i was told to when my current ones looked good lol

wires are 8mm. later on im gonna goto 9mm jbas and bigger alternator, 134a converted ac. but thats all AFTER its running

and the winner is Ronin:chug:

What would one gain by running 9mm wires? Say with the set up I and JD have now..? (and xeek will soon) :p:

none it all boils down to how the wire is made really, normally that larger the mm the better but we dont run really high amp or voltage packs so the best numbers to look at is resistance.

you trying to say im gonna shove a 422 in there with 95tms? lol
id rather get a recording of a niceeeeeee lope and have a speaker in the engine bay playing it loudly before i tore it apart again to do that lol

PITA! pullers bolts were to short. so i got a steering wheel one, longer bolts. but, the plate was ticker so the bolts extra length got canceled out. seems i need the reg puller and the bolts from the steering puller :/ have to go back tomorrow, not going back again tonight

See what I mean!! I was SO PISSED when I had to make 3-4 trips to Autozone to figure out which puller I needed..

Thank god James gave me an extra balancer.. I figured out on the 4th trip it'd be a good idea just to take the extra one up there and try out all the pullers.

well the steering one has bolts that are maybe 1/2" longer. perfect to thread into the crank puller and work. i think it got it, just dont wanna go back tonight lol

anywho, the headers seem like theyll work as-is.its kinda like y-pipe flanges; pipes touch, but the flanges dont. gasket will fit also.
now if i really wanted to be picky, id grind it down to make it all flat.
now to try and get the o2s moved

realized how much easier stripping a head is when a magnet is used to get the clips out :/
both are done now.

help on my lifters? one of the caps broke off. not just popped off, but broke. i guess i gave to buy a new lifter? would that screw up the other 11 having 1 new?

I have a whole set i got you.and didnt i tell you to use a magnet to get those locks!!

awesome. that helps out.
you prob did, i may have missed it. atleast i figured it out anyway. took half an hour to disassemble this head. 1st one took ~1.5hrs lol

im gonna buy new injectors anyway. you said mine were single flow/shot or whatever it was called? new ones are 'multi port' which im guessing is the 3-way spray you mentioned?

Yea let me find the link for the match set, save you money if i can find it!
