now that you mention it, it did try to go up, starts at .8XX and goes up to .938 then drops from then on
i have the ground from both harnesses going to the battery cable ground on the frame. thats where the spal tech told me to place them. im gonna go sand the hell out of the frame.
maybe possibly try to directly to the battery?
I think where you have them grounded now is fine...it's best to use the same ground point for everything (like you have done). Just make sure it's a clean ground. You could use the negative terminal of the battery if you wanted though.
To make sure your ground is good, what you can do is measure continuity between where they are grounded now and the negative battery terminal. That might be hard if your voltmeter is going bad though.
What reading do you get when you put the voltmeter across the battery terminals? If it's way less than 12v then that might indicate a bad voltmeter.
