Joining the bandwagon, my 4L OHV build

wow. so thens its a little less then 12v huh lol
now that you mention it, it did try to go up, starts at .8XX and goes up to .938 then drops from then on

i have the ground from both harnesses going to the battery cable ground on the frame. thats where the spal tech told me to place them. im gonna go sand the hell out of the frame.
maybe possibly try to directly to the battery?

I think where you have them grounded now is fine...it's best to use the same ground point for everything (like you have done). Just make sure it's a clean ground. You could use the negative terminal of the battery if you wanted though.

To make sure your ground is good, what you can do is measure continuity between where they are grounded now and the negative battery terminal. That might be hard if your voltmeter is going bad though.

What reading do you get when you put the voltmeter across the battery terminals? If it's way less than 12v then that might indicate a bad voltmeter.

I THINK I JUST FOUND THE PROBLEM!!!!

remember the splice you did you connect the fuse to the 4 pin harness for the battery and wrapped with duct tape? it pulled right out!
yes the controller can turn on without that wire plugged in, cause i actually forgot to plug in that harness and the controller powered on by the orange wire. im gonna fix this and see what happens!

its already wired to the temp sensor. working good too. gauge stays at the "R" on normal. slightly goes up and down from that, but mostly right there. i dont have a light in my truck so idk when its going 50% or 100%, but i do like the temp it keeps it at

just an lol of today.
*pull up to light with a car to my right*
*girl in car to my right looks out her window then stares at my zombie stickers*
sitting at light a little more..
*she turns and looks at me for a bit*
her(yelling cause my trucks loud): is that a hemi?
*loling without her knowing*
me(yelling cause my trucks loud): no its a v6 i rebuilt.
then a little more talking and the light turned so we drove to the next red light and by the time that one turned green i ended up with another contact in my phone

yea if you ever need anything, or some help and im able to stop by or whatever, im your slave lol

the dinner i was supposed to have 2 weeks ago, im still trying to make it happen lol
she just works to damn much :/

as far as the truck i think im gonna change the oil 2 more times. drain, fill, run, drain, fill. it should be ok tho, i did a lot of the cycles you said to do. this is just so i feel better about getting all the water out.
and for its looks im gonna try and bedline the wheel wells, mirrors, black trim around windows, grille. throughout out the week

oh yea jd, that filter has 3x as much in it now! i never empied it before, i just wanna see how much comes out.
i seemed to have lost the ring that holds the mounting bracket on. in doing so my pcv was just barly on the cover cause the filter thumping around lol
some zip ties fixed that. i do need a better way to mount it tho

Dont let it get to full.

yea ill empty it, it doesnt have much in it now, since its so big.
any suggestions to keep from pcv from wiggling half-way out? you can see how i mounted it in my pic. but the pcv keeps coming out a little bit, prob making a vac leak from it

it wouldnt go back in there with the heat shrink on it :( too tight

so i adjusted my brake booster vac line and the filter. may work better this time.
stupid me, i sprayed brake cleaner in the clear plastic tube on the filter to clean it out, now the whole thing is frosty and i cant see in there :(

what i took out:

yea it also seems to be running better with the fresh oil too. im no longer getting the CEL or the idle surging like i was. i am still getting it tho, not a whole lot tho. it did go down a little more this morning and the volt gauge dropped with it

got 11.06mpg! :D
think ill hit 40mpg? lol JK

yea i posted in my registry that im gonna get more coolers and external filters. im gonna go with a single tranny filter and a single extra oil filter along with the one on the block. run motorcraft on each, and for the 2nd oil filter use k&n.

answer my last pm about the tranny!
