Just bought an Explorer looking for mods.

They all seem to work about the same, just choose which one you want based on price, looks, ect.

hmm...yea I was looking at the K&N Performace ratings and what not, for the explorer. It said 5.8hp increase, roughly. And it is 300 some dollars...if they all perform that well then I will most liekly get the KKM. Just because of reviews that I have read on the KKM lead me to believe that they perform just as well as the K&N.
Although I really do like the asthetics of the K&N. But not for 300 some dollars. Esp if performance isn't much better then KKM's $100.00 intake kit.

HI guys.. I've been reading up on this thread.. and was wondering.. is there a difference between KKM intakes and the ones from ebay who are half the price.. Got mine from there.. seems to work fine when I install it for the summer.

Ok,Since I'm considering purchasing a cold air intake down the road, far as I can tell, from looking at the second page is,that Mac only offers their intakes for '96 on up Explorer's. Since the '96 motors are the same as the '95 motors,ya could just order the one listed for the '96 correct? This will be used on a '95 Explorer btw.

I recommend the MAC cai because the chroming is good and they have proved to be really rugged. As far as the other parts I would highly recommend the ASP pulley a very worthwhile upgrade. You will definately feel this mod. And of course tuning. For the exhaust I would recommend once again the MAC catback, I have had good service out of these. Contact me if interested!

Jah81592 - I went on the ASP website.. and didnt see anything for Ford Explorers on there.. and what pulleys are you refering too. And for Tuning the truck after making mods.. would going to a ford dealer be worth it.? or .. any mechanic?. Sorry for all the questions.. New to all of this.. :).
I have a Ford Explorer 2000 Sport.

NO! lol dont go to a dealer, number one they probably will not modify your truck, and two if they will u will pay about 100000000 times too much as if u where to do it yourself or have a friend do it. and i probably wouldnt trust any private mechanic with mods, but thats me...

Go to my website www.hensonperformance.com and I sell the underdrive pulley for 255.00. As far as tuning don't go to the dealer. They will only put stock tunes in your vehicle. Buy a SCT Excal2 for your Ex.-James
